I was so excited to learn I was going to be able to review Madonna's New Album Rebel Heart! Yes, I'm old enough to remember Madonna on MTV. MTV was new and groundbreaking, just like Madonna. MTV was about music then. I was really little, but I grew up on Madonna, Michael Jackson, and The Beatles. Madonna's music has been with me my whole life. Madonna is a chameleon and no matter how shocking she may be, she is beautiful, has fun music, and can entertain. I haven't honestly heard a full album of Madonna's (digital music has killed that) in a long time, so this was a treat. This is Madonna's 13 studio album!
Rebel Heart has the best of Madonna, but in a new format. The album has a lot of upbeat music for dancing and isn't overdone. The lyrics to each song are what I think make the album. It's just Madonna, the vocals are clear and undistorted.
I like "Unapologetic Bitch", just because sometimes I just need the screw you songs. "Bitch I'm Madonna," with Nicki Minaj is just a fun cheeky club song. "Body Shop" just reminds me of classic Madonna and I can just listen to it over and over. The song "Rebel Heart" is an anthem for every adult learning from there mistakes and being good with where they are and where they've been.
Over all, Rebel Heart has it all and is a well put together album. Congrats Madonna, you've done it again. The following are the tracks on the album.
01 Living For Love
02 Devil Pray
03 Ghosttown
