Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue Review

Damage Rescue Review

It has taken people a while to discover that healthy hair starts at the roots! Head & Shoulders figured that a long time ago and has improved and expanded their products. The product I was able to check out that I received from Influenster was Damage Rescue. The Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue system I supposed to nurture the scalp & dry damaged hair with intensive care, leaving hair up to 10X Stronger in Just Four Washes.

Since changing up the way I take care of my hair I have discovered that if you treat your hair nicely form root to tip your hair grows and acts the way it's supposed to. I wash my hair every other day or more to keep essential oils that my curly hair needs. So, I made sure to use Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue for a little over two weeks to do a real review.

The Damage rescue shampoo and conditioner has really helped my winter dry scalp. It took away the flakes and my scalp just felt better. The down side for me is that I don't feel any extra moisture when I get out of the shower. With my regular shampoo and conditioner I can really feel the softness when I get out of the shower. But, after I style my hair after using the Head & Shoulders shampoo and Conditinoer it feels fine. Over all if you're looking to help out your scalps health, this is a great product for you.

Happy Washing!

Forever Red Exclusively at Bath & Body Works

Forever Red by Bath and Body Works is a very strong sent for me but, by no means a bad scent. I would give this as a gift for someone that can handle heavier scents. It reminds me of Bath and Body Works' Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Since I'm horrible at describing scents: Bath & Body Works' describes their new sent as " a longest lasting fragrance blends opulent notes of fiery red pomegranate and delicate peche de vigne, a rare and fleeting French peach. Soft petals of red osmanthus give way to notes of addictive velvety marshmallow and a surprising finale of rich vanilla rum that leaves an unforgettable impression."

You can find Bath and Body Works products store near you or online at bathandbodyworks.com

Thank You to Bath and Body Works and Influenster’s VoxBox program for letting me try Forever Red out!

Gillette Venus Embrace Review

I loved the Gillette Venus Embrace for shaving my legs!

The Venus Embrace razor has five blades for a close smooth shave. The blade refills fit any Venus handle so you pick you favorite one without having to purchase a whole new razor. The blades move easily so there are no nicks after shaving. Just smooth legs! So you might be thinking the price is up there but, with having versatility, they are worth every penny. And there are always coupons! ;)

I chose the Venus & Olay blade refills that have Olay Moisture Bars right on the blades, that contain skin conditioners really helped moisturize my dry legs. I'm pretty sure the other blades are just as good, but I just need the moisturizer.

Thank You Infuenster and Gillette for letting my try this great razor.
Happy Shaving!

COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick Review

The idea of Covergirl's Flipstick is great because you can get several looks from on lipstick. I call it the "3- in- one lipstick!" You can use both the colors by themselves or one on top of the other. Most of the colors felt moisturizing, except for the one with glitter in it. The glitter felt gritty. The colors lasted a long time. The downfall is the taste, this is why I only wear select lipsticks. But it was not unbearable. The price is decent for the choices you get. It is about the same price as most drugstore lipsticks. From the colors that I have received and have seen, you have to like color. These are for people that want to make a statement. Thank you to COVERGIRL and Bzzagent for giving me the opportunity to try this product out!

Cure your dry winter skin with Burt's Bee's Intense hydration line

I tried the Intense Hydration Line from Burt's Bee's thru buzzagent. This line is definitely for people with super dry skin. I think of my skin as dry to combination skin. So I thought that this line would be great to try now, especially now that we're getting into winter time. The line is 99% natural and contains clary sage. All prducts from this line smell good, kind of citrusy, but not overpowering.

The facial cleanser is the best part of the line for me because it cleanses the face well and moisturizes without feeling greasy or to heavy. The following pictures are my before & after pics, not touched up, no makeup, or products other than the Cream Cleanser. I used the cream cleanser for about 2 weeks.

Before Pic: Tight skin and a lot of redness.

After Pic: Skin not so tight and less redness.

The night moisturizer and treatment mask were just too moisturizing for my skin. There are more details in my video.

FTC:The Burt's Bee's Intense Hydration was given to me to review thru the bzzagent program. I'm a bzzagent and got it for free. All opions are my own.

Movember

I'm writing this today so hopefully one person will listen to what I have to say. Have you notice a lot of mustaches lately? I mean even more than normal? It's because we are growing mustaches for prostate awareness, as well as men's health awareness. My dad passed away from prostate cancer so, this just means a whole lot to me.

Men you are walking, talking billboards, just grow mustaches and if anyone asks you about it tell them, what its for. Women, take a pic of yourself with a stache on and change your social profile pics. Once again, when people ask tell them what your standing up for. So please, take a stand with me and fight cancer! Read more about the cause and please donateThe funds raised in the US support prostate cancer and testicular cancer initiatives. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and Movember's health partners, The Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. ALL donations go to charity NOT MYSELF! I'm just a MoSista standing up to cancer! DOWN WITH CANCER!

The New Influenster!

From time to time you see video or blogs on products from the voxbox. If you ever wonder what it is and how I get it keep reading....

Influenster has changed a bit and hopefully for the positive! More badges to earn which will hopefully equal more chances for a voxbox. The bigger your score the better!

In case you aren't familiar with voxboxes, they are a box you earn with Influenster badges. The boxes can contain many different things from food to beauty. The most important thing is that it is totally free. The only thing I can see as being difficult for the average person is that some of your reviews include video or blogs.

Influenster has also changed to invite only and I have invitations if you want them. Let me know on comments here or twitter (even better!) . I will need your email. Serious people only please! First come first serve. Remember, you will need to review items on the site as well as a blog/blog.

Check out Influenster for your self!

Glade Expressions Review

Glade let me try their new line, Glade Expressions thru BzzAgent. The line is a nicely decorated to go unnoticed in your home. But you will notice the long lasting scent. I can't rave enough about the price because Target has been having sale after sale on these products which are already decently priced. Their Pineapple Mangosteen fragrance is very tropical. The Apple Macintosh is a nice fall apple smell just what I was looking for. Glade is giving high value coupons for these on Facebook so check it out! Happy Shopping!

Nails of the Week- Sinful Colors

This nailpolish by Sinful Colors Rich in Heart, is gorgeous! This is a dark oxblood color that I mentioned in my fall nailpolish picks. It is a deep, dark red, a touch of brown, and red shimmer. The nail sticker is from kiss nails Halloween collection. I doubt the nailpolish looks any other than black but it is super pretty in person!

Nail Products that flopped!

I am beginning to explore many different nail products. And there are some that are just a fail for me.

1. Nail stickers- not the decals, but the full nail stickers that try to pass for Sally Hansen. These dont apply well and just don't stay on. I've tried many different types. Cute but don't work.

2. Wet and Wild dollar polishes.
These just don't stay on my nails. They have great colors but they just don't. The only polishes in this line that seem to work are the glitters.

3. Nail Caviar. While it's a super cute way to do your nails it just doesn't stay. While it doesn't take much effort to do it. Paint, put micro balls on, and the top coat. It just feels weird to me and gets caught on things. Granted I'm really rough on my nails. Also, people might lead you to believe it lasts your whole manicure time I give it 1- days if that!

Weekly Deals- My Picks!

Okay so there's gonna be 3 picks this week and that's it! 2 are from CVS.

Nails of the week- Zoya

This cute bright shimmery Barbie pink is a jelly from Zoya. This color is called Starla. A jelly is kind of like see through polish with color. I absolutley love jellies. I dont know if its just the Zoya brand, but jellies just do really well on my nails. My accent nail is from my last post OPI DS Magic. Both of these together just pop and complement each other. I was getting major complements. My daughter was even impressed LOL.

Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Review

I was able to try the foundation and powder thru bzzagent. The foundation was a pretty good match and blended nicely. You can choose to either use it as full coverage or light depending how much you squeeze out. The 2-in1 idea is great because the Olay moisturizer is in it! Apply and go. I recommended using a brush to apply both the foundation and powder. The price point will differ between stores I've seen it as high as $16 but us supposed to be $14. This is probably good for people that are in the dryer side because it does have moisturizer inside. The wear us also great it did last all day.

Nails Of The Week- Not Your Kids DS! Featuring OPI

This OPI is one of the most expensive nailpolish I've ever purchased at $12.50 . This color DS Magic is part of their diamond dust collection. Yes, there is suppose
to be finely crushed up diamonds in it! The diamond dust looks and feels different then shimmer or glitter. When I was starring at it in Planet Beauty I really couldn't figure out what was in it. I finally asked what it was and she nicely explained it to me. I chose this blue and purple duo chrome stricktly because it was gorgeous. The only dissapointing thing about it was that on the nail you just can't see the purple. None the less you are still getting OPI quality and I'm still happy. It really is a gorgeous blue. Would I buy another? No way! Unless I saw it on clearance. I just can't justify the price.
Always Radiant Infinity Review

I normally don't talk about feminine products on here but this brand has changed me over. It was also before Influenster sent these in the Latina Vox Box I discovered these. I was on a search for reasonably price protection but didn't look questionable and I stumbled on the Radiant brand. The Always pads are dependable and thin with their "bouncy" protection. The Tampax tampons protect great and have a nifty pocket to put them into the trash. I recommended both products. Pick one up next time you're at the store.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine Lipgloss Review

Nude in new York by NYC is a great neutral lipgloss color. You can wear it alone or on top of other lip products. This lipgloss is not too sticky, it gives just enough shimmer and feels good, not drying. It also smells great! This has been in my purse since I got it from Influenster in my Latina Vox Box. When I see these in the store I'm going to try a different color after all the price is on point ($2.49).

Bath & Body Works NEW & Improved Shower Gel Review

This little Pink Chiffon shower gel smells good. It smells floral with a hint if sweet that is not overwhelming. All Bath and Body Works products leave you smelling great. It lathers up well and does the job. While it does have Shea Butter in it now it does help but, I have dry sensitive skin. So I cannot use this product all the time, just whenever I feel like smelling extra nice! Whenever I do get the chance to get them at a great price I do. They make great gifts! Thanks to Influenster for letting me try this one from my Latina Vox Box.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen Review

Once you open this little bottle it smells so good. Like a coconut paradise. When I think Hawaiian Tropic I think sun tan oil, not sunscreen. So I was quite happy to receive this product from Influenster in my Latina Vox Box. I tried this out and the SPF is good and it feels pretty close to a lotion. So now that summer is over if you see it on sale or clearance pick it up! BTW I took these pictures!
Happy Tanning!

I'm Back!

Sorry for the super long post. I hope it's interesting and informative. And no this isn't because someone askes me to talk about, it's just some stuff that I wanted to share with you.- ;)

Okay so its only fair to my few readers to be blogging again as well as working on YouTube. So let me say hopefully I'll be posting at least two a week.

Let's start with a run down of my life if you don't already know. I work full time with children. Have to tend to my home and family. I have 2 children a boy age, 8 about to be nine, a girl age 4 just started preschool, and a step daughter age 16. Just a FYI about my children I choose not to show them in anything I do. Me and my husband do it for the safety of them. Will this change? I'm not certain. I also do YouTube videos, blog, tweet, Facebook, Pinterest, ect...( the fun part).

Now to talk about why I was absent from internet anything... I've been sick for about 4 months now. I'm still not going reveal what exactly it is at this point, just because I do want to share everything at once to help other people. But don't worry its nothing huge or serious. But it was bad enough to take up all if my sick and vacation time and then some. At my worst point I could barley do anything by myself. But now I'm managing with a lot if help from my husband, easy meals and( I know bad) take out, and turning a blind eye to messes. I try and get out much more than I did. Painfully I move on with my life. I just want normality in my life, that's why I decided to come back. During my really hard days, anything beauty related was the last thing on my mind. God just picked me up and said lets move on.

My life and financial situation always changes. So if you think beauty people on YouTube don't know what you're going thru, you're wrong. There have truly been times in my life where we've barely made it through a month, let along to think of even buying a cheap nailpolish. What I show you discounts, couponing, and all is real.

From all this my true dream would be just to do the whole YouTube thing, and be there for my family. But truth be told YouTube only pays well if you are lucky. Theres two strikes against me I'm older about to turn 33 and plus size. While some people complain that others on YouTube use too many high end products and are too young or immature, they are still watching them. I do too. The truth is young, bubbly, and attractive sells. There is so much competition out there. There's always room for the next person. But I seriously love YouTube and the whole idea behind it... type in anything and it's there at your disposal real people, real ideas, some real opinions LOL.

Okay, so I know you're not asking, and it might be in bad taste. I'm going to put it out there. I don't make any money off of YouTube or get any sponsors or get any products for free. Would I like to? Yes of coarse, who wouldn't? Will that change? Only the Lord knows.

I truly want to show everyone that does watch or read that no matter how much your making you really can be on trend just with a little more effort than people who can go out and buy whatever they want. I love makeup and it truly is an art form. Anyone at any status or level can learn how to do amazing things with it.

Sorry, but I've been watching Julie & Julia and it just inspired me to really talk to you guys. Hope you don't mind and, "Is there somebody out there? "-Julie

Lots of love and happy shopping!

Nails of the Week- JulieG Nailpolish

This weeks nails are simple but cute. I have been reaching for any colors but brights LOL. I've been wearing bright's since spring. The JulieG collection has been out for while exclusively at Rite Aid. JulieG is a youtube beauty guru and makeup artist. I chose the color Cupcakes and Castles. This light pink is cream with blue shimmer. I did have to apply 3 coats to get the color I wanted, but 2 would probably work. My accent nail is one coat La Colors Thunder Storm a silver metallic (may not exact color name) with Essie Set in Stone on top. This JulieG nailpolish is one that I know I will be wearing frequently. Now its time to try more colors.

A family night in on Ralph's !

Now I know I usually post beauty bargains and ideas, but my channel and blog are dedicated to beauty & LIFE on a budget. This is just another way to save. Thanks to being a buzzagent I was chosen to try out some food from the Kroger brand. I was sent a box filled with tortilla chips, a vitamin water drink, 20% off coupons for future shopping, and vouchers for a free frozen pizza and Popsicles. Since the theme is family night we decided to do dinner and a movie at home. The pepperoni pizza far exceeded what I thought the pizza was going to be like. It was crispy, cheesy, and tasty. Some major brands I can't even say that for. The chips were good and I made a quick little dip to go with them. I'm not big on vitamin drinks, but it did have good flavor pomegranate cherry . Now I didn't get a chance to try the lime popsicles we got, but I'm assuming they were good because they were gone quick. Over all I was really happy I decided to do this campaign and am really impressed with the Ralph's store brand. Sign-up to bee a bzzagent! They have so many different campaigns for everyone, you don't have to be a blogger or blogger, just have internet access. It's free!

Nails of the Week-New Line Circus

I received this polish by Andrea's Choice, a YouTube Beauty guru, thru MyGlam sample service. From what I've seen of the collection all the colors seem opaque, creamy, and bright. It seems every time I'm about to cancel MyGlam, they drag me back in.
I'm wearing one base coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, a great white my daughter originally picked for herself. Then I put two coats of Circus Somersault, a opaque, gorgeous, primary yellow (never thought I'd say that.) On my accent nail I have two coats of Esssie Set in Stone, a perfect silver glitter with large and small pieces. These days I can't seem to live without a accent nail, its just such an easy way to do a cool design without taking the chance of messing up all my nails.

Impress Nails Manicure

I recieved Impress Nails by Broadway Nails in my mom voxbox from Influenster. I've got to say first off I'm not into fake nails of any kind. I'm also allergic to acrylics. But I have to say these nails have impressed me, no pun intended. They're super easy to use just clean nails with prep pad then peel and stick. The nails almost look natural and the color looks like actual nail polish. They are great for anyone busy and want a quick good looking manicure. The only negative is that I have wide nail beds so some were hard to pick the right size. Go try and snag a voxbox for yourself from Influenster .
Happy Foe Painting !

Makeup Brush Cleaning Magic With Ivory Soap

Influenster and Ivory soap teamed up for this summers MOM VOXBOX. I received a full size Ivory soap and cut a small piece off to clean my foundation makeup brush. I forgot how clean and fresh smelling Ivory is. I used my little piece to work up a lather in my hand and it cleaned the brush nice and quickly back to white. I let it dry over night and it was clean and soft. Now I think I will be cleaning my brushes more often. Try it out! Also check out influenster and earn your own voxbox!

Nails of the Week-Color Blocking

I saw this look in Cosmopolitan and wanted to give it a try with my own twist. Base is two coats of Sinful Colors in Hazard, a work cone orange. The tips are also two coats in Milani Pink Pop a cute bright, but not overly bright pink. Let your base coat dry a little before you paint the tips. The design on my ring fingers is painted the opposite with a orange heart at the tip. The glitter on top is one coat of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter.

New L.A. Colors Eyshadow Trios

I was impressed by LA Colors Eyeshadow Trios before. They are cheap and have great color payoff and staying power. So when I saw these I got excited. I wanted to see if they were like the originals. These are the five I discovered at my local Dollar Tree Store. I didn't purchase them all even though the price is right at $1 each. I need eyeshadow like a hole in the head lol. Forgive the quality of the photos I took them with my cell phone that's no iphone lol!

                                            Swatch Time!

Water Lilly Trio: The blue and the pink were nice, shimmery and highly pigmented,
but the green was a bit to powdery and icy looking.
Orchid Trio: The Pink and the Peach were also too powdery.
The Brown is highly pigmented and has nice shimmer.
The low down:
I'm not as impressed with these as the originals, but there were a few colors that were great. Then again if only one is great it's not that much of a lo$$.

Don't underestimate the cheepies! Happy Shopping!
